Chef de Cuisine

Spent most of morning service being sous chef and escuelerie to Sam, preparing a lunch for the speaker and the leadership of the church. He's a very good cook, and it was a delicious meal. The speaker, Dr Kang-San Tang, is the general director of the organisation we were in Brazil with.

This evening was a real celebration, as one of our young folk got baptised (extra). In our tradition, we dedicate babies, but baptism is a personal decision made by an older person who has decided to be a disciple of Jesus for themselves, for the rest of their lives.

Which seems a huge commitment, but the Queen has shown that a commitment made when young can be kept for your whole life. A lovely tribute to her in the BBC Songs of Praise today, especially the beautiful song by Katherine Jenkins at 18.24, do listen if you can.

Gratefuls:
- my servant-hearted son-in-law
- being with this part of my family in our home church
- the gorgeous garden bouquet Deb and Allegra put in my attic room of pink roses and deep purple lavender

Added an extra of more glorious light to yesterday's Blip, now that I've downloaded photos from my camera.
