Cartmel

We diverted to Cartmel on our way home from holiday. It's been a good few years since our last visit. As lovely as ever.
We went to the Priory Church and after a look around the churchyard were about to enter when I noticed a number of people lined up as if waiting for something. i asked one of them what was going on and was told they were about to start a Flag Ceremony. The English flag, at half mast for The Queen, would be raised for The King. We watched the ceremony then went into the church.
Had a little look here and there (quickly) in the village and did a couple of stages of the Adventure Lab cache there plus a Virtual cache before leaving for home.
We were on the M6 when we saw a notification that between J34 and J33 there was "a 2 hour delay". Noooo! We left the M6 at J35 and headed towards Lancaster and the A6 to bypass it.
Big mistake.
The 2 hour delay was not on the M6 but on the diversion which, of course, we joined and crawled along for more than 2 hours. If we had known it was the diversion that had the jam we'd have gone a different way eg via Kirkby Lonsdale but the info on the motorway was unclear to say the least!  Apparently, the M6 was closed between J34 and J33, which in my book is NOT what I would describe as a delay between the junctions!
Normally our satnav flags up stuff like this but it didn't - maybe it just flags up traffic movement and not a closure which had been in place from the night before.
Eventually we got through it and back on the M6 but not before our tempers were frayed
