It's Mono Monday and the theme is APPENDAGE.

An elephant's trunk is one of the most useful appendages in the animal kingdom. You have roughly 600+ muscles in your body.....and elephant's trunk alone can have up to 40,000 muscles.
~
Its dexterity is unmatched and is sensitive enough to discriminate among various coins you might have in your pocket by touch alone. As we all know, the trunk can be used to suck up water, pick up or touch objects, trumpet warnings and greet other members of the clan.

This is the trunk of an African Elephant (Laxodonta africanus) who resides at the zoo in Milwaukee.
