Sgwarnog: In the Field

One of the neighbourhood curiosities that I encounter on my lunch time walks from work, this cast iron boundary post marks one edge of Woodhouse Moor. There is another nearby. The posts possibly date from 1855 when the moor (now the park of that name) was acquired by Leeds Corporation. The other face of the post reads, prosaically, Boundary Post.

The contested statue of Robert Peel (former Prime Minister, founder of the police etc.) stands at the corner of park behind.

Later, football got back underway after the weekend postponements. I headed down to Horsfall Stadium after work - Bradford (Park Avenue) were well beaten by the visiting Darlington.
