Sgwarnog: In the Field

Hawker

The sunshine returned, and with it a bit more activity among the dragonflies and butterflies.

This Southern Hawker was one of a few patrolling near Red Brick Pond, along with several Common Darter.

The day’s butterfly list: Speckled Wood, Small White, Small Copper, Red Admiral, Green-veined White and Comma.

Later, a Yorkshire derby of sorts, with Marske visiting Guiseley for a Northern Premier League fixture. Marske are ascendent following a couple of promotions, Guiseley are in decline following a couple of relegations, so I’m not sure when they last met competitively. Guiseley had most of the game yet conspired to lose 1-3. It was my fiftieth Guiseley game, of which 26 have been defeats.
