ALMOST PERFECT

The pansy that is, it looks so beautiful, apart from that one corner which some insect or other has had a chew, but decided to leave the rest??

An exciting day today, housework getting ready for His Nibs visit (hopefully) on Friday.

Last night I had notification from Avanti West Coast that they were going to be running a significantly reduced service until they can sort their problems out and G is booked with them to come on Friday!!!  On checking you can't really find out until the evening before so we've decided not to cancel and see what the situation is like on Thursday, if it looks like his train is  running fine, if not we will go up to Edinburgh to pick him up, it will be a fleeting trip as it's a long drive there and back. We will see.

Although it's lovely to see how many people want to pay their respects to Her Majesty there needs to have been some thought given to residents who still need to go about their daily life.  G had a medical appointment today with his GP.  He lives quite close to St Giles Cathedral (not as great as it sounds) and on trying to get to his appontment the way was block by a sea of people all queueing up with noone allowing anyone through who just needed to pass through. To get round them would have meant he would have hae to walk about a half mile, which he cannot do so he ended up having to go home again.  I managed to contact his surgery and they arranged for a hurried phone consultation whilst he was in, but it really wasn't adequate.  Still he's home now and won't move from his flat until Thursday morning for his dental appointment, fingers crossed the crowds will have dissipated a little by then.

Well that's all from me for today.  Do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
