Vanille

Glorious sun and blue skies this morning but also the first very heavy dew we’ve had this autumn. The dew has weighed down the lovely blooms on the second Vanille Fraise hydrangea which was much later flowering than the first one which you can see is now a deep pink. The top bloom of the three near the ground has tints of pink developing but I’m not sure it will get as pink as the other.

I took a picture of this the other day as it had some striking orange leaves ( right ), interesting to see that they have mostly dropped off now.
Fresher than yesterday, which was still quite muggy, I think this together with the dew and steamed up bedroom windows this morning is a sure sign that autumn is now really here.
