Goose Barnacles

Wembury Point near Plymouth is well known for the huge piles of seaweed that are sometimes cast up onto the beach. Today it was impossible to walk over most of the beach and the only way to cross it was by taking a route just above the high tide line. Lying on the stones there was a large black, plastic tray of the sort often used on trawlers. It was cracked and broken and appeared to have been in the sea for a considerable time. It twas the sort of unattractive item that most people would walk by or perhaps comment on the plastic waste in our oceans. I'm not sure why but I decided to take a closer look and found these goose barnackes inside. One of the many interesting finds on the shoreline today!
Thank you to everyone for yesterday's stars and comments. They were all very much appreciated.
