CORSICA -DAY 1

Taxi at 3:45 AM!!!
Heavy suitcase within limits phew :)
*ready for the flight.
*ME unbelievably alcohol/-free :))
Flight great….collecting the hire car not so straight forward as I was named as main driver but insurance was in The Rev’s name!!
* We drove for an hour to have lunch on the beach but the 2 main restaurants were closed on Tuesday!!! so much for my research!! We found a lovely restaurant further up the beach and had a delicious…French/Italian/Greek meal….it really reflects this country’s history.
*Our first glimpse of the Corsican countryside. (we have never been and literally choose it looking at flights from Gatwick! :))
After lunch we drove into Aleria old town and did a quick tour of the museum and view the ancient settlement from Greek occupation.
We then had a frustrating journey to our first overnight stop….the satnav played up, my phone ran out of charge, we were tired and hot!!! However we got there in 90mins.
We have a lovely mini villa…a shared pool…5 mins drive from the beaches.
After a sleep we went for an evening drive to see the beach.
Busy but lovely day.
