Over to Skiddaw

Today I went to Carlisle and on the way back decided to go home via Caldbeck.  Chris Bonnington lives there, by the way.  Calbeck is a village that used to make bobbins for the cotton industry.  I chose this view over Calbeck Common towards 'The back o' Skiddaw,' which is quite 'a wild place, farms dotted around and big skies.  The photo gives you an idea of the day.  It was generally sunny with a drop in temperature making it cool on the Fell.  This a route I haven't used in a long time, but glad I did today.  I have lightened up the brown rough grazing in  the foreground as the clouds had dulled it down.
John Peel, a famous huntsman is buried in Caldbeck Church 'do ya ken?'
The top of Skiddaw is just in view.
