I've always voted, no matter what the election. I think I may have missed just two in the last 30 years when I was abroad and postal votes weren't so easy to get. I've never lived in a constituency where my chosen candidate has been elected, but this will never stop me from voting.

The right to vote is taken for granted in this country, but it shouldn't be. Countless millions throughout the world don't have this right; many have died for it, including Emily Davison while securing the right for women to vote in the UK.

To take part in the democratic process is both a privilege and a duty. Use your vote, don't waste the opportunity.
