Turtle Carnage

I don't think this was a happy turtle hatch judging by the amount of yolk on the sand. Other hatch remnants we have viewed in the past have been just shell remains, no yellow stuff. Plus we normally release baby turtles around the first of the year, not in the middle of Spring. I hope the websites are correct when they say most hatches occur in the summer and this was a legitimate nighttime event that allowed a bunch of baby sea turtles to escape their nest in the sand and make the short trip (at least judging by where these shells were located) to the waiting waves.
