CORSICA - DAY 4 - BONIFACIO

Date confusion this should be 16th!!! aarrggh!!!

Be had to be packed and out by 9AM…(hotel request…because of COVID cleaning?!?!)..ridiculously early especially as we were asked to strip the beds and bag them up with the towels…COVID?!?!
*However it all worked out well as Bonifacio turned out to be fascinating and well worth the extra hour or 2 we had there. It was only a 40 min journey…but the town was spread over a cliff top old town and a harbour. Plan worked out…park at the top…slow meander down…land train up!!!
*It was a lovely town with narrow streets, almost alleyways.
*At the harbour we enquired about a boat trip. It was leaving immediately for an hour trip…perfect. Although the sea was very rough we all felt ok and it was lovely to see the town from the sea.
*we went into caves and to
*the grain of sand rock.
Im strangely fascinated by rock formations!!!
Back in the harbour we had a pastry and coffee before getting the land train back…oh no FULL So we walked the 25 flights of stayed back up!!!
Lunch under the trees and off to Ajaccio; the capital of Corsica and our next hotel (no.2) …** we passed amazing views of the coast line and some hillside towns and picked up a couple of hitch hikers from Holland…a middle aged friendly couple who were well and truly stranded and were going to Ajaccio too.
Arrived at our new hotel with a few hours of pool time and a lovely evening meal of shared fish soup and pasta. Well and truly ready for bed!!!
