At the start of Summer I had an extensive clump of Michaelmas Daises, started many years ago from a small rooting clump from my late Mum's garden. By mid-August the clump had all but died off due to the hot weather and lack of rain.  Mother Nature is a benevolent soul however, and after some welcome rain life returned. Today it is flowering with more to come, and the bees taking full advantage of the late nectar supply.
