Peacock on Blackthorn

It was a good day for butterflies on my local walk today - 7 different species. Plenty of Peacocks, Brimstones and Commas, species that over-winter here as adults and were on the wing early this year with a few false spring starts. They must be grateful now that there's lots of blossom as a source of nectar.
