The Last Post

Today is the state funeral of  Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II   (21st April 1926 -  8th Sept 2022) who served as Queen from 6 Feb 1952. 

Our Queen for over 70 years. An outstanding leader of The UK and Commonwealth, and amazing human being, the like of which is doubtful we will ever see again. It'll be strange seeing the changes in everyday life like the post boxes which will change to CR.

After watching the funeral on tv, mid afternoon we met up with granddaughter Amelia and parents for a two mile walk around Wentwood Forest, and brought her home for the night. We'll be up early as we have to get her to school by 9am - a first visit for us to her new school - her uniform on the chair ready for tomorrow.
