Most excellent monarch

We didn’t really mean to but we’ve ended up watching Queen Elizabeth’s funeral all day from our apartment in Croatia. It was an incredibly moving and impressive spectacle.

We were transfixed from the first moment watching the mourners arrive, the words, the music, her family, all the people and the pageantry. Right until the end - and those words ‘most excellent monarch’ and the breaking of the wand in St George’s Chapel, Windsor symbolising the end of her reign. I’m crying just thinking about it again!
