Stuff and Nonsense

Zebra Longwings

I wasn't going to post another butterfly today..... honest!   But when I went into the Butterfly House for training this evening, there were 6 of our own home bred Zebra longwings getting ready to roost together, and I just loved it.

We spent the day on the Wirral North coast - New Brighton, Leasowe, Hoylake and then Burton Point on the way home. It was a lovely day, not so many birds around but we FINALLY got to see the Little Owl at Burton Point late in the afternoon. It was quite far away and hiding in a tree instead of sitting on a nearby fence post like I asked for!  But at least we saw it...after all these times. We also saw a nice greenshank trying to avoid detection in amongst the redshanks, some nice stonechats and a pretty whitethroat.  (some birds we saw in extras)
