up the tree

Fiona and I had planned a big walk in the hills today, but heavy rain stopped play and we decided to save it for nicer weather. Instead, we set off mid-afternoon, when the band of rain had drifted off towards the south east, and we had a dry walk up from Castle Corner to Ward Law, down to Blackshaw and along to Caerlaverock; a respectable 5.60 miles. Jess enjoyed herself as well - here she is resting on the new picnic table.

It's been a day for operations - my Mum had her first cataract op this morning, and poor Otter had his undescended testicles removed. Luke video called me and Otter's face looked very sad, in his plastic cone :-(
The photo of my Mum on FB, however, showed her smiling and happy.
