I am lucky to possess a limited edition of a very large book called Mike McCartney's Early Liverpool. Because such books are quite expensive, I only take it out now and again, being careful not to smudge the pages. This is is picture of the Silver Beetles playing at Mona Best's basement club, the Casbah, in 1961. Mike was and is Paul McCartney's older brother, who refers to his younger sibling as 'our kid.'
