The Bells of Peover

A much needed restful morning was spent over a bacon sandwich and a call with AmandoAlentejo talking about our trip to see them tomorrow before my friend from Sale Grammar School Chris was arriving to spend the rest of the day with us.  This is the third time he has driven over to this campsite in Knutsford and it has become something of a tradition to walk over to Peover where there is a lovely old pub 'The Bells of Peover' which as you can read here was the scene of an important meeting of allied commanders discussing the D-Day Landings over lunch.  We had a really good time with Chris discussing spirituality, the reason we are here and many other deep topics, enjoyed a very good lunch as this Pub has never disappointed and then continued on the walk back to spend the rest of the evening continuing our conversations and listening to different music.  We had absolutely no need of any further food.  The walk was undertaken in glorious sunny weather but not too hot and apart from having to perform balletic steps over much of the first couple of fields where cows had left their signature deposits, we were very grateful for weather, friendship, conversation and connection which amazingly dates back to when I was only 12 years old.
