Time to Stand Beneath the Boughs

Leisure - W.H. Davies
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?-
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows

The trees along Linwood Avenue in Christchurch are stately, graceful, spreading and old. Their boughs are sculpted and reach out wide, giving lovely peaceful shelter in summer, and becoming black and stark in the winter. At present there's still a hint of autumn colour, but there's not very much left at all. Winter's close now. We'll soon be waiting for them to become beautiful again, in the Spring, with a riot of daffodils underneath.

A funny thing happened while I was capturing the trees! I got blipped!
