Sundial

Where does the time go! Behind the sundial you can see the results of our first mowing of our lawn/wild flower meadow.  It will get a second cut next weekend.  The agapanthus has good seeds.  MrHCB has zillions of agapanthus seedlings from last year, growing well in the greenhouse.

And it's difficult to fit in a normal weekend's worth of jobs (shopping, visiting the optician for better glasses for processing images on the computer screen, tidying up the garden, advance cooking of Sunday lunch for friends) with two lengthy concerts a day. The lunchtime concert today finished with a Dutch violinist, Charlotte Spruit, playing the most moving account of Bach's Partita No.2 for Solo Violin, that I have ever heard.  Bach wrote the final movement after the death of his beloved first wife and is thought to have poured all his feelings into it.  It's incredible to me that a 22 year-old can understand and convey such emotion.

P.S. I've only just noticed what appears to be a mosquito - first one I've seen this year!
