Brown Bag Lunch at the Museum

Bellingham's Whatcom Museum is home to a Brown Bag Lunch presentation which takes place on the first and third Thursday of each month. These presentations are "an eclectic mix of presentations and performances designed to entertain and inform participants about the cultural and historic resources in our community. Topics range from musical performances, historical research, art exhibition related programs, and the natural history of our region."

Since today was the first Thursday in May, there was a Brown Bag event, and the Allegra Vocal Ensemble was today's guest artists! The museum's rotunda room with its open space, wonderful light, and beautiful acoustics, is one of my favorite venues for musical performance in Bellingham. The photo seen here was taken from the balcony by my good friend LocalFoodLover, a former Allegra member, and fellow alto.

We perform again this Sunday on Samish Island, followed by our main event on May 11th, then finish the season with a last (short) hurrah on June 1st. We haven't performed publicly in a while, so it felt good to get out there today and share some music with a lunch time crowd full of familiar faces!

(Thanks Cynthia, for attending today's performance, and for this lovely photo!)
