Old friends

I picked up my friend Tim at eight thirty and we drove down from Edinburgh to Galashiels to join our Professional Gardeners' Guild colleagues at the hotel. We had lots of lovely chats and hugs from people that we hadn't seen for some time before sitting down for the AGM which took a lot longer than expected as there were a number of extras, such as the handing out of awards and a long talk from the lady at Perennial, the gardeners' charity.

After a sandwich lunch in the beautiful conservatory we transferred to Sir Walter Scott's old home, Abbotsford, on the way to Melrose - my Blip today. We wandered around the gardens and chatted over coffee before splitting up, most of the folk going back to the hotel for dinner while Tim and I came back to Edinburgh where we enjoyed an Indian meal before going our separate ways. I'll pick him up in the morning for the return to Oban, while the PGG folk have another garden visit on Sunday.

A good day, with lots of sunshine.
