Alcoy

This evening we went to see the aftermath of the day's events at the fair held in Alcoy, a city set between mountains and about 22km away. Some of the Spaniards dress up in period clothes from their Modernist era, around the turn of the century.

The streets around Plaza de España were buzzing with people. Most of them didn't seem to be used to walking in straight lines on pavements – so one might conclude that either they just aren't used to cities or this provincial conurbation isn't really a city.
