Concorde

Went over to East Lothian today for a visit to The National Museum of Flight where as part of Doors Open Weekend, entry was free.
I have long wanted to visit, mainly to be able to see Concorde and it was great! What a beautiful aircraft, I would have loved to have flown in her. But next best thing was to admire her in the hangar and walk through her cabin, wonderful!
This plane is ‘Alpha Alpha’. She made her final flight from New York’s JFK to London Heathrow on 12 August 2000. In her long career, she had flown 22,768 hours, landed 8,064 times and broken the sound barrier 6,842 times. It took only 3.5 hours to fly from New York to London. Sadly all Concordes stopped flying in 2003, British Airways fleet of seven found new homes across the world, Alpha Alpha at East Fortune and the others at Bristol, Manchester, Heathrow, Seattle, New York and Barbados.
