Tall sunflowers

Checkout time is 10 - and we make it just in time. It’s chilly but glorious - clear sky, not a cloud in sight - so we head to the botanics for a wander.

Then back home. Left over Paesano’s pizza for lunch. An afternoon of planting out lettuces and winter cabbage in the tunnel.

I roast a rib of mutton, served with roast potatoes, cabbage, and purple beans (that turn green when cooked). To accompany the meal, my last bottle of Brouilly, bottled from a cubi I bought from Roger on the way back from Nick’s 50th at the barn.

For afters we share a baked apple with cream.
