Between fen and mountains

New hangings

While sorting out the loft, I chose my two favourite paintings from our old house to bring over to France. They were transported very carefully. The first was painted by Mrs TT’s ex father-in-law who was a member of the Cambrian Academy. I love the simplicity of the scene, its composition and the excellent use of the light. The second painting in the extra was one I bought years ago in an auction with the proceeds of a clock sale. The clock had been a gift but did not look good anywhere in the house so I decided to choose a painting with the proceeds of the clock sale. The painting is a Cornish scene and the artist is from the Newlyn school.
