Cathédrale St Pierre (Montpellier)

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy walking in the streets in Montpellier? I've got J hooked on it now too. This photo gives a good example of what they are like, often with more shops and restaurants. Many are decorated with ribbons or fabrics of different sorts to make them distinctive (I think). From this spot, you can see the St Pierre Cathedral at the end of the street, with its vaulted entry.

Besides walking, we had a nice lunch out at a crêperie. We also found a way to send our suitcases to Paris through a service run jointly by the post-office and the SNCF railway... they are supposed to pick up our bags at the door of the apartment in Montpellier on Friday and deliver them to us in Paris on Monday. Then we'll just bring one suitcase and the bike on the train ourselves on Saturday... I'm just hoping it's not too good to be true!
