Fly Agaric

After a sprint cycle class I was out with on Aylesbeare Common with fellow blipper 28degreesnorth.  It was a cooler day then yesterday and fairly cloudy a lot of the time but we enjoyed our circular walk around the area. Although its still fairly green with the ferns only just beginning to turn colour and leaves falling from trees there is a distinct lack of flowers, butterflies and dragonflies.  We did however find some mint in flower in the plantation and I enjoyed photographing various seedheads and flowers here especially since the smell of the apple mint growing here was so lovely.  It was here that we saw the first of a few fungi and as we continued our walk we came across a fair number of different ones in other woodland areas.

My blip for today is of a young Fly Agaric, Amanita muscaria with a few others in extra.  An enjoyable day out.
