A Jabberwocky Look-Alike?!

If you know Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass" you'll know of the Jabberwock,  a ferocious fictional monster described in the nonsense poem "Jabberwocky". The Jabberwock is thought to have been inspired by a tree in the private Pococke Garden in the grounds of Christchurch, Oxford which we were privileged to see during Son#3's time studying there a few years ago. We came across this tree during a morning walk (with Oona) down Cedarvale Ravine here in Toronto: we thought it looked very like the Christchurch tree.

I thought that a mono conversion showed up the texture of the tree better - and also made it look a bit more scary!

The Toronto ravine system is a distinctive feature of the city's geography, consisting of a network of deep ravines which forms a large urban forest that runs through most of the city.
