North Ocean 102

It's been a lazy day, catching up with ourselves, tidying, planning, reading, watching - & nipping out if an interesting ship appeared. It wasn't meant to be, but almost end-to-end showers turned the planned long walk into a very short out-&-back along the river towards the end of the afternoon when the rain had ceased. It's not much fun trying to clean a wet & muddy dog in a van, & there was plenty to see without going out, so we opted not to.

This was one of several, from a sea-going cruise ship to fuel tankers with "No Smoking" signs in large letters. I couldn't work out what it was at first, but apparently it's an offshore support vessel. The gulls were resting on the water a few seconds beforehand - I liked this particular shot with them swirling around; an added bonus.
