Ground works

Mike is here today with a mini digger. He levels the site for the potting conservatory and sinks a few post holes.

Also on the job sheet is laying the power cable to the veg store. Digging in the track is always nerve wracking, because we’ve put so many services in the track over the past 25 years - and of course they aren’t all accurately marked out.

In the end, the only digging he does in the track is a conduit to carry the fibre to the office. We run the power cable behind the office/shed which doesn’t need it to be buried the whole way.

While burying the last few meters to the garden wall, we unearthed an ancient tin bag of builders sand. I cart it off to dry - then it will be perfect for storing my carrots in.
