Snaefellsnes Peninsula

We left the sweetest little Airbnb inHella this morning, headed for the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, northwest of Reykjavik. It took us a couple of hours to get to the town of Borgarnes, where we’re staying tonight. The afternoon was spent exploring the peninsula. It wasn’t a great day, weather-wise, periodic rain showers and glowering skies, but the sights of the peninsula were spectacular.

We didn’t arrive at tonight’s Airbnb until 7:30 pm so I’m only sharing one photo…this of gorgeous basalt cliffs off the beaten path on the peninsula.

Thanks so much for all of your support and comments, hearts and stars for the posts on this adventure! Tomorrow we go back to southwest Iceland for our last two nights - trying to figure out what to best fill those (rainy) days with.
