The Rendevous Cafe

This street cornner cafe used to be a record shop, called Record Rendvevous. It looked quite busy this morning. I noticed someone reading something in their window, and I knew what it was. (See extra shot.) What it says is not quite true. The then Silver Beetles  played in the Northern Meeting Rooms, a building that preceeded the present one. They were a backing group for crooner Johnny Gentle. The photos show them auditioning for Larry Parnes prior to this short Scottish tour.  Stuart Sutcliffe was on bass while stand in drummer Tommy Moore is not pictured.
