A day in The Aveyron and The Tarn

Lesser Whitethroat (Sylvia Curruca) Fauvette Babillarde in French.

See it bigger here

I had a day out to Millau today to get a new portable hide for wildlife photography.

As I said yesterday, Le Viaduc de Millau is the tallest bridge in the world, spanning the valley of The Tarn river, in The Aveyron departement of south West France.

You may not have ever heard of The Aveyron - but you surely know one of its more famous products - Roquefort cheese - yep, it's made here and, some don't appear to know this, from 100% ewe's milk.

It's a really beautiful place, steep gorges, wide open spaces, high cliffs and national parks - just down the road is Albi, with the biggest brick-built cathedral in the world.
The region, The Midi-Pyrénées, boasts the largest concentration of UNESCO World Heritage sites in the world too ... can't be bad ..

If you're interested, HERE are some photos of the day in the Aveyron / Tarn.

I'll blip the hide some day or put a link up on my blog - it really is pretty cool.

Hope your day was good
