Bye bye Godzilla

Time to try the butternut squash! It’s ripened quite well and is solid with really good flesh. I mad some soup, filling for pasties with sage, and had some left which I have frozen for later use. Very pleasing.
We did the final butterfly transect at Howe Ridding this afternoon, just a few last speckled woods. It hasn’t been a brilliant butterfly year in the wood, in spite of the sunny summer. Just a sign of how things are now.
