Monmouth

We left our Airbnb in Kymin this morning and we drove down to Monmouth for caffeine refreshment before facing the journey home.  Found a cafe, Salt and Pepper, with nice outdoor seating where we had coffee before wandering down to the bridge, famous for being the oldest bridge in the country (built 1271) that still retains its arched gatehouse above the bridge span.  Anyway I took some photos and decided on this one of the river Monnow taken from the bridge.  The gatehouse is in the extras.

Then an uneventful drive home, via Stratford to drop Tom off, owing to lack of trains due to the strike.
