Tag Der Deutschen Einheit/Reunification Day

October 3rd is the day chosen to celebrate the reunification of East & West Germany into just Germany.

Time for a bit of history. 

Germany as a unified nation only came into being on 18th of January 1871.  An agreement signed at the Palace Of Versailles - masterminded and manipulated by Otto Von Bismarck.  King Wilhelm I of Prussia was proclaimed Emperor of Germany..

Prussia went on to become the only country to be legislated out of existence (it's a fascinating bit of history).

Anyway today is the day we "celebrate" the reunification of East & West in 1990.
