Growing my knowledge of fungi by spending hours in the woods. Today that included a birch forest, which is how I came to find this Orange Birch Bolete. (Edible)

Also excited to receive my copy of Roger Phillips' book "Mushrooms". Like all his books, it's full of wonderful photographs.

On the way home, in a tiny patch of woodland near our house, I found some ink caps and a stinkhorn. Both of those remain in the ground :-)

In haste, as it's drumming tonight and I need to eat tea before I leave - minestrone soup and apple crumble. It will be tomorrow night before I get to do any commenting, apologies in advance.
