Light & Shadow

This is a painting which hangs in the Parliament's Garden Lobby against a wall of grey concrete. Its by Alison Watt, a young Scottish artist, who famously painted the portrait of the Queen Mother with a teapot on her head. I've had to crop this a bit because the angle was off so I hope I've not committed a major artistic transgression! I think the painting is utterly brilliant - it makes you want to reach up and straighten out the folded material.
