Strange Sun

Strange skies the last couple of days, clear, but smokey feeling, with a white sun. Saharan sand, apparently.

Yesterday, Mike made an A-frame and we marked a contour halfway up our Land; today, I hauled some rocks to start making a barrier to catch soil if it ever rains again. Wish we could dredge the Lake and spread the soil back on the Land...

Loved this video of photographer, Chris Killip, showing photos he took of Skinningrove, a small village in N Yorkshire, where he embedded himself for several years. He has a mesmerising way of talking, and beautiful light in his photos.

Two years ago today, Gracie was born. Pruned her cherry tree and remembered.

Gratefuls:
- for Grace and Eden
- for a slice of leftover white choc cheesecake from yesterday, with our mugs of tea this afternoon
- good FT with our boy

The sun looks so tiny, thought I'd enter it into Tiny Tuesday - it's as close as I can get with this lens. Must get my Fuji mended!
