Bark patterns

The bark of this gum tree, Eucalyptus caesia, glowed brightly in the light of the late afternoon sun when I wandered around Kings Park botanic gardens today. This subspecies has the horticultural name Silver Princess. Its leaves and fruit are indeed a silvery colour but the bark, when I saw it, was crimson and gold.
