Taking refuge…

….. of sorts. We had a very noisy night. Predicted frost threatened vulnerable grapes in Marlborough’s extensive vineyards. Helicopters from all over the South Island congregated in Marlborough and set about flying low over specified vineyards to stir up the air close to the vines and hopefully prevent frost damage. Wind machines roared overnight as well. This Charolais herd did not like the noise of helicopters working close by and took refuge as far away as possible on the edge of their paddock under a dead tree. Hopefully there will be no frost tonight and quietness will prevail.
