Linlithgow Loch

Was across in Linlithgow, for a bit of a family catch-up, earlier this afternoon ... luckily, we had some time to briefly wander alongside Linlithgow Loch [pictured above] before meeting everyone else for lunch :-)

And would you believe it - tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of the 'Second Saturday Strollers'!

So, for old times sake, we're just repeating the initial walk we did way back in October 2017 - some details follow:

------

- 10am walk-start, Saturday 8th October 2022
- from the main car park of the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena (EICA) at Ratho;
- see: https://www.edinburghleisure.co.uk/venues/edinburgh-international-climbing-arena/opening-hours-and-contact
- scroll down from that link for detailed directions to the Arena

- by Car: there is plenty of car-parking at the Climbing Arena
- or by Bike: if you want to cycle, I'll be leaving from the Canal-towpath, opposite the Ashley Terrace Boathouse, at 9am
- the cycle-route is straight along the canal (so VERY flat!), and about 8-miles in distance

- from the EICA, the actual walk will also be pretty flat (honestly!) and is about 7-8 miles in length
- should take circa 4-hours to complete (including a lunch stop on-route)
- so; please do bring along some snacks/packed-lunch etc.

- basically, we'll go West along the Union Canal (from the Climbing Arena) to the Almondell & Calderwood Country Park, and then back again (so, an out-and-back walk, starting & finishing at the EICA)
- we'll use the Canal-towpath, woodland paths and some local minor roads
- the walk also includes two potential cafes-stops en-route: at the Country Park (halfway) and the Climbing Arena (at the end)

If you are interested in coming along, and need any further detail, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me directly!
