Bolton Abbey Round

A beautiful sunny  autumn day walking the round from Barden Bridge to Bolton Abbey with our friends H and K.
The extra collage shows the river weaving round the abbey, and in the smaller images, The Strid, where the river narrows and the power of the water here eroding the stone.
In the evening I went to a festival of the work of Amy Woodforde Finden in Hamsthwaite Church, to support a member of my art group who had painted a couple of huge sets -  incredible that the community has made this event happen. I was drawn to a Saxon cross in the church too
