Airport tunnel, early morning

It's been a long time since I saw 5:00 a.m. but we were up and out the door at 6 to catch a flight to southern Oregon to visit Laurie's sister and sister-in-law. It's a short flight - we spent more time in the airport than we did in the air. Despite the looks of abandonment in the tunnel from long-term parking to the terminal, it was crowded in the terminal. Our plane, though, was barely 1/4 full and we could have had a seat that wasn't right over the wing and had a better view of the gorgeous mountains and rivers on this clear day. Ah well, maybe Monday when we return. It's warm here - Charlotte says it's almost 90F! We're off to the river for some cool breezes.

Edit: I wasn't sure how to fit this into today's May challenge word, soft -- but now I see the soft golden light in contrast with the hard metallic conveyer and I think it works.
