Opening Day 2013

Opening day of boating season in the PNW!!! And what a gorgeous day! ( there are some years when the first sat in May feels like November!). No grandchild opted to come watch the crew races and the parade today so H and I had a good long walk and enjoyed it all. It was hard to decide on a photo so anyone interested in rowing races and the venue could look HERE for more boats . I was happy to be watching and taking pictures - it was a bit windy for me to think about how nervous I would be racing .... ( did it once).
This is taken looking east to the Cascade mountains and the logboom full of partying boats. The rowing shells are just entering into the Montlake cut to go under the bridge - about 750M to go for the course of 2000M.
Otherwise a bad week: our espresso machine broke, our washing machine broke , and the old small TV in the bedroom broke. We went out to recycle it today and research washing machines and got stuck in Horrible traffic due to a fire. (And opening day traffic?). Also tried to get a comcast Internet phone to save money but they wouldn't install without a special box from our alarm co. Who won't do it. Back to square one. Off to the opera tonight to think about something more beautiful.
