When I woke up this morning I was immediately aware that something was different. I was able to swallow without feeling I was swallowing razor blades. I'm not sure whether that's the antibiotics, the codeine or maybe the combination of the two. Whichever it was I was pleased about it.
The river had a strange look when I went to the window. The edge of the water had a soft look as mist rose off the river. I don't know whether we had a frost but it had been the first cold night of the season. The sun had just come over the valley side to reach the top of the poplar tree at Archbrook. A great start to the day.
